Our latest Swiss Metaverse Association virtual member event took place in a custom-built Spatial environment designed by Bandara—a space that exists both digitally and in real life! It was fascinating to see and interact with all the avatars, experimenting with their features while ensuring a structured and comfortable experience for everyone. To maintain order, we set a few ground rules—which worked seamlessly.
Updates on Working Groups & the Metaverse Landscape

Virtual Meeting of the Consumer, Retail, Fashion & Luxury Working Group
Daniel Diemers, Board Member & Head Expert Tribe of the Swiss Metaverse Association, opened the event with an update on our working groups. The Luxury Working Group recently met in Spatial and they also explored a virtual art gallery by ALL ART.
Daniel also provided insights into the current state of the metaverse. While the hype has cooled, the technology continues to evolve, and companies are actively developing applications behind the scenes. However, hardware improvements remain a key challenge. It will be interesting to see how the collaboration between Ray-Ban and Meta shapes the future of immersive experiences.
Bandara’s Signature Projects
Next, Sabrina Curschellas from Bandara introduced some of their flagship VR projects, highlighting the role of gamification in making experiences more engaging:
-
Bandara created an immersive VR-Internship experience which included gamification.
VR Apprenticeship Experiences – A project enabling students to explore different professions in virtual reality. Each career path includes an interactive task, such as building a wooden box in carpentry, helping students understand both the profession and the work environment.
- Virtual Lounge for RTR (Radiotelevisiun Svizra Rumantscha) – RTR’s modern lounge in Chur is used for talks and educational events. Since not all school classes can visit in person, Bandara partnered with RTR to bring the lounge into the metaverse.
- Reconstruction of the Historic Waldhaus Hotel – A digital recreation of the legendary Waldhaus hotel in Vulpera, which was destroyed in a fire, preserving its legacy in virtual reality.
- Lindt Canada’s Virtual Reality Campaign – A social media campaign where participants could share VR content on Instagram for a chance to win vouchers for the Lindt online shop.
Guest Speaker: Emilie-Alice from The Good Token Society
To wrap up the event, we welcomed Emilie-Alice Fabrizi from The Good Token Society. Based in Geneva, she provided a deep dive into Web3 developments in Romandie, sharing valuable insights on the evolving ecosystem.
While we may no longer be in a metaverse hype cycle, innovation continues, and companies are actively building behind the scenes. We look forward to seeing where these new developments take us next!
