Zurich Glühwein Night with Kelly Vero: Exploring trends in the metaverse
On 10 December, around 20 members of the Swiss Metaverse Association came together in Zurich for an inspiring “Glühwein” evening with our special guest, Kelly Vero. As a futurist, game developer, Founder of NAK3D and one of the leading experts in the metaverse, Kelly captivated us with her vision for 2025 and beyond. She discussed key trends shaping the virtual landscape, the critical importance of quality, and what businesses should focus on to stay ahead.
Kelly also explained that gamification is poised to become a major driver of innovation, and Asia is leading the way in leveraging virtual spaces – especially in areas like education. Her insights on how these trends are shaping the future provided valuable takeaways for all of us.
Kelly’s mission is to bring the world of tomorrow to life today. She explores the paradigms emerging in the virtual space, from the intersection of physical and virtual realities to navigating Web 3.0, covering topics like digital fashion, AI commerce, and the future of gamification.
A big theme of the night was use cases – “in Switzerland we need to establish broader use cases than the usual healthcare and fintech – though they are so very important. The bigger questions lie in industry applications and simulation”, Kelly Vero told us. “Look to organizations such as Siemens who are showing us the way in out-of-the-box collaborative solutions for industry and as always my good friends at Breakroom are doing a lot of good to fill in the gaps of automation,”
Her insightful and accessible approach to the metaverse, which she defines as a permanent online space delivering meaningful content and technologies across industries, has made her one of the most sought-after digital leaders in the field. Kelly’s passion for driving technology through education, sustainability, and social impact is truly inspiring and resonates deeply with her audiences.
Kelly also made it clear that Switzerland is not currently at the forefront of innovation for the future and that there is still much work to be done – also for an association like us.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event such a success, and an especially warm thank you to Kelly Vero. Her energy is absolutely contagious, and her thought-provoking insights have left us motivated to shape a brighter future through virtual spaces.
